In
a recent interview with Aljazeera TV, Daura reiterated that the service
will sustain the clampdown on not only corrupt public officials but
also other saboteurs that might pose danger for the interest of the
country as a whole.
Daura further said that the
agency would be professional and thorough in its dealings while noting
that the service under his leadership would be accountable to Nigerians.
In his words, 'Whatever
comes before us with facts and figures, it will be dealt with equally
as required by the law. The ongoing investigations and clampdown on
corrupt persons and saboteurs of the nation’s interests will be
sustained.'
The recently appointed DG urged
Nigerians to raise their expectations as the secret police were poised
to restore the confidence of citizens in the service.
'Nigerians
should closely watch and follow what we have started and what we will
continue to do. I am sure they will not find us wanting,' he said.
