One Direction is Ghosting Us

You know when your parents said they were just doing the heartbreaking "trial separation"thing  to "see how things are apart?" Well, One Direction is pulling the same stunt with their "indefinite hiatus" planned for this spring. Like your parents, they're lying to you, and probably lying to themselves.

It's less than a year since Zayn Malik left 1D, and they haven't really felt like the same band since. They also haven't looked like the same band. Maybe they could have managed just fine if Zayn had left in 2012 when Harry Styles was still the band's hottest member. In early 2015, though? It was a move that cut out the heart of the band—and crushed the hearts of millions of fans.

Now, the remaining members of the band are going to pursue independent projects—we're guessing with varying levels of success. Not everyone can leave a group to do their own thing and be Beyoncé. In fact, it's mostly just Beyoncé who can be Beyoncé, you know?

We just wish that 1D would be, you know, honest with us. Bands don't just go their separate ways and reunite like nothing happened (Ed. Note: Just ask NKOTB.)

Maybe they think that they're letting us down easy? Or maybe they really believe that they're getting back together ... and if that's the case, they need a reality check.
