Mother Admits The Killing Of Her Son

The mother of three-year-old Mikaeel Kular has pleaded guilty to killing her son in Edinburgh in January.

Rosdeep Adekoya had been charged with murder, but admitted the reduced charge of culpable homicide when she appeared at the High Court in Edinburgh.

Adekoya, 34, initially claimed Mikaeel disappeared from her Drylaw home.

Hundreds of people helped police search for him in the two days before his body was found 20 miles away in woodland in Fife.

Detectives Arrest Policemen, Bank Workers For N24m Robbery

Four employees of the Fidelity Bank, three security guards and six policemen have been arrested in connection with the robbery of Fidelity Bank cash office in Alaba, Lagos.

It was learnt that the suspects were arrested by the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, led by SP Abba Kyari.

A source told PUNCH Metro that the policemen comprised three inspectors, two sergeants and a corporal. The bank workers were said to be two female cashiers and two male cashiers.

The source said, “Six policemen are being detained along with four cashiers of the Fidelity Bank. They are now being quizzed.”

PUNCH Metro had reported that the robbers struck on Wednesday, blocking two bullion vans belonging to the bank as they drove into the bank’s premises.

The robbers overwhelmed policemen that escorted the vans, killing two of them.

The robbers were said to have carted away N24m during the operation.

Police spokesperson, Ngozi Braide, had confirmed the incident, adding that one policemen was killed while N24m was carted away.

Frustrated husband creates spreadsheet detailing different reasons why his wife would not have sex with him

A 26 year old sexually frustrated man created a spreadsheet detailing reasons why his wife would not have sex with him. For a whole month, the man jotted down every reason the woman gave to turn him down when he asked for sex...from 'I'm too tired', to 'I'm watching the show' to 'I have to be up early' and sent it to her via email during a business trip to get her attention. She said when she tried to reach him after receiving the email, he refused to pick her calls and she angrily posted it on Reddit.

The lady said they'd been together for five years but only married for two years without any kids.

"Yesterday morning, while in a taxi on the way to the airport, husband sends a message to my work email which is connected to my phone. He's never done this, we always communicate in person or by text. I open it up, and it's a sarcastic diatribe basically saying he won't miss me for the 10 days I'm gone." She said "Attached is a spreadsheet of all the times he has tried to initiate sex since June 1, with a column for my "excuses", using verbatim quotes of why I didn't feel like having sex at that very moment.'

The spreadsheet, which has since been deleted, has been shared by thousands of people online.

Nigerian Air Force Jet crashes in Borno State

A Nigerian Air Force Mi-35 helicopter that was on a training mission crashed this afternoon in South Bama, Borno. According to a statement signed by Nigeria Defence spokesperson, Chris Olukolade, the jet crashed due to technical fault and not as a result of any enemy action. The statement did not say whether anyone was killed or injured in the crash.

Mr. Olukolade said investigation has commenced to unravel the circumstances that led to the crash.

Governor Nyako (Adamawa State Governor) Impeached, His Deputy Resigns Position

Adamawa State House of Assembly members this afternoon July 15th impeached the state governor, Murtala Nyako, following a report by a 7-man investigative committee that probed allegations of gross misconduct and financial impropriety against him.

The report, which was read by the State Assembly Speaker Umaru Fintiri on the floor of the House, found the governor guilty of all the 16 allegations of gross misconduct. 18 out of the 24 members of the State Assembly then signed a resolution removing the governor.

The House then passed a motion that the Speaker, Umaru Fintiri, should be sworn in as the state’s acting governor. According to reports, that will be done by 4pm today.

Meanwhile, the state Deputy Governor who was also investigated by the panel, had resigned his position earlier in the day in a letter he sent to the House of Assembly which was read by members and immediately approved.

Evangelist Ebenezer Obey Now A Music Professor In OOU

Nigerian music icon, Evangelist Dr. Ebenezer Obey-Fabiyi has been made a Professor of Music at the Department of English and Performing Arts, Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye Ogun state. In a ceremony held on Monday July 7th at the Otunba Gbenga Daniel Hall of the school, the VC of the School, Professor Sabiru Adesanya, honoured him as a Visiting Artiste in the English Department.

Responding to the honor, Dr. Obey promised to give his new appointment the same attention he gives his music and share his wealth of experience with his students. He used the occasion to donate new sets of musical equipments to the Department of English and Performing Art.

10-Months Old ASUP Strike Suspended #Polytechnics To Resume On Tuesday

The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP), has suspended its 10-months old strike. The strike which started in October 2013 was suspended today Saturday July 12th the National Executive Council of the association.

Rising from a meeting this morning in Abuja, the ASUP NEC decided to suspend the strike which has seen polytechnic students stay at home in the last ten months.

The National Publicity Secretary of ASUP, Clement Chirman announced the suspension and also stated that academic activities would resume in all polytechnics nationwide from Tuesday July 15th. The ASUP leadership held what it termed a fruitful meeting with the newly sworn in Minister of Education, Ibrahim Shekarau on Thursday July 10th.

The Vanguard News on friday morning Reported that Rauf Aregbesola AKA Ogbeni as he is popularly called bought equipments worth 1.3bn for the Nigerian Police Force. Would i be wrong to perceive this as a means to lure the police into working in his favour in the August 8 election in Osun
The question is, how much is Osun State federal allocation itself that the Governor was able to give out so much? Anyway, the police in any state is not autonomous and so i believe the thoughts of their hearts has failed abinitio. Sometime in the papers, the same APC had complained of the Federal Government spending wastefully and this to me seem to be a like action.
