60 Nigerian Soldiers To Face Trial For Mutiny Today
60 Nigerian soldiers including 2 corporals, 9 Lance corporals and 49 privates who refused to partake in an operation in Maiduguri on August 4th will be arraigned before a military court today Sept. 30th at the Sani Abacha barracks in Abuja for committing two offenses, conspiring to mutiny and mutiny.
According to the charge sheet, on August 4th the soldiers had refused to join the "111 SF Bn troops" led by Col E. A. Aladeniyi to Maimalari Barracks for an operation, thereby committing an offence tagged "conspiring to mutiny" against the authority of the division, an offence punishable under Section 91(1) of the Penal Code Cap P89 LFN 2004 as well as outright mutiny which is punishable under Section 52(1)(a) of the AFA CAP A20 LFN 2004.

Strange things keeps happening this days. A 19-year-old boy identified as Abel who was recently promoted to SS3 in
one of the secondary schools in Asaba, capital of Delta State, has allegedly
put his own mother in the family way after he had a carnal knowledge with her
few months ago.

The National Executive Committee of
the All Progressive Congress (APC) on Friday Sept 26th made it known that
nomination forms for its presidential ticket cost N27.5million!
They also announced that forms for
other elective offices were categorized as sitting aspirants and are expected
to pay more than fresh aspirants on the same office.
For example, a sitting governorship
aspirants, will pay N10.5 million for nomination and expression of interest
forms, while fresh aspirants are to pay N5.5 million for the same forms.

Lagos State Govt May Prosecute T.B Joshua Based On The Collapsed Building
It looks like Synagogue leader T.B Joshua will be prosecuted by the
Lagos State Government over the collapse of his building on September
12th that left more than 115 people dead.
According to Punch, the state government has set up a
coroner of inquest for the purpose of investigating the cause of the building collapse. This was made known in a statement
credited to the Lagos State Attorney General and Commissioner for
Justice, Mr. Ade Ipaye, on Sunday.

Fishermen Arraigned By EFCC For Fishing In Unauthorized Waters
The
Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) yesterday September
24th arraigned six fishermen Adekunle Oshingbosi; Momodu Ibrahim; Idowu Tuesday;
Togbosi Christian; Benjamin Eyinle; Anthony Medoho, and their company,
Oshine Resources Ventures Limited before a Federal High Court sitting
in Lagos for allegedly fishing in unauthorized waters.
According to the EFCC, the men were arrested on March 27th
by officers of the Nigerian Navy for fishing in Nigerian territorial
waters without getting authorized approval thereby
violating Sections 1(1)(2) of the Seas Fishery Act Cap S4, 2004.
The presiding Judge, Justice Ibrahim Buba granted them bail in the sum of N10 million each with one surety in like sum each, who is to produce two recent passport photographs. They were remanded at the Ikoyi prisons pending when they meet their bail conditions.
