India Man Performing Stunt During World Record Bid To Cross River Died On A Zip-Wire

 A stuntman died yesterday during a world record attempt as he tried to cross a river on a zip-wire attached only to his hair. Sailendra Nath Roy, 50, was half way through the stunt when his ponytail became stuck in the wheeler of the rope and he was left hanging in mid-air for about 25 minutes.
Despite desperate attempts to free himself, it is believed Mr Roy then suffered a major cardiac arrest and died. May his soul rest in peace...amen.

NBA player "Michael Jordan got married over the weekend with Tiger Woods, Spike Lee and Patrick Ewing among those attending the NBA Hall of Famer's wedding in Palm Beach, Fla.
 Micheal Jordan got married to a 35-year-old former model Yvette Prieto on Saturday. Manager Estee Portnoy told The Associated Press on Sunday. The 50-year-old Jordan owns the Charlotte Bobcats.

Nearly 300 guests were present as they exchanged vows. The reception took place at a private golf club in Jupiter designed by Jack Nicklaus. Jordan owns a home near the course.
Entertainment included DJ MC Lyte, singers K'Jon, Robin Thicke and Grammy Award winner Usher and The Source, an 18-piece band.

The six-time NBA champion and Prieto met five years ago and were engaged last December.

Jordan had three children with former wife Juanita Vanoy. The couple's divorce was finalized in December 2006.

31Year Old Man Sentenced To 45 Years Imprisonment For Stealing Aregbesola’s Mobile Phone

Kevin Ighodalo, a 31 year old man has been sentenced to 45 years imprisonment by an Osogbo High Court for stealing a Sony Ericsson mobile phone said to worth about N50,000 belonging to Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun State.    Ighodalo stole the phone from the pocket of Aregbesola on November 27, 2010, when the governor was being inaugurated at Government Technical College, Osogbo.
    Justice Oyejide Falola, who heard the case, found Ighodalo guilty on six counts, which included conspiracy, stealing and fraud.

Students Protests As Babcock University Releases School Fees For Next Session.

Babcock University students went ahead protesting through the media about the increase of their school fees. This students didn't protest  in their school or complain to their school administration, they only made it a media protest... A few students from the school have sent so many mails complaining about the exorbitant fees they are being made to pay to get an education. The university just released the school fees for the next session and some of the students feel its outrageous. See it below...

1) Nursing- N1million
2) Accounting- N1.5million
3) Law- N2million
4) Medicine- N3million
5) Others- N860,000

The students are scared to protest in their school because they could get suspended. Babcock is a Christian University and claims to be a non-profit organization, so students don't understand why they have to pay such huge amounts to school there. But here's my thing; complaining about the school fees of a private university is like complaining about the cost of a first class plane ticket. You have other options; business class, premium economy class, economy class. If this is too much for you, move to a federal school, state school or less expensive private schools. Not that I support these fees, I think it's ridiculous. You pay N3million a session to become a doctor and when you eventually get a job, you make less than N200 thousand a month...doesn't make much sense to me...but that's the way the school wants to operate. You either take it or leave it! Its now plain clear that education is not meant for the poor....What A Country!!

Buh i think the federal government should be able to do something  for these students, Like make their University bring down the fees....

Sandra Ekperuoh (Lady Mechanic's) VI Workshop Sealed.

This is an outrage! Over 40 policemen and officials from the Waste Water Management and Sewage Board, an arm of the Ministry of Environment, this morning stormed the mechanic workshop of Nigeria's first woman auto mechanic, Sandra Aguebor-Ekperuoh, and sealed the place. Her auto workshop, where she employs only female mechanics, is situated by 1004 in Victoria Island. 

Sandra runs an NGO that empowers women called the Lady Mechanic Initiative where she has empowered and graduated over 150 women in Lagos State alone. Sandra has over 150 women mechanics in Abuja and 100 women mechanics in Benin where 50 of the girls are graduating in three weeks time. 40 of them will be employed by Sandra immediately after graduation in her Lagos, Benin, Kaduna and Abuja workshops. Some of the girls who have passed through her are now self employed with their own mechanic workshops and even training other female mechanics. This woman has done so much to empower women in this country and it's so sad to see this happen to her. Sandra has been a mechanic for the past 27 years.

She trains these girls for free, still gives them a salary and accommodates them. The land that was sealed today houses the Lady Mechanic Workshop and a hostel for her girls where the girls, some of them orphans, stay rent free.

Their reason for sealing the place? It is however said that the land Sandra has been on for the past 10 years. belongs to the government.

Pastor Arrested Over Murtala Mohammed International Airport Lagos Robbery Attack

 

On Tuesday, Lagos State Police Command, paraded seven suspects of a robbery gang that attacked the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, MMIA, Lagos, last month, killed two policemen and injured several others.

Among the suspects, was the General Overseer of The way of Joy church located in Egbe, a Lagos suburb. The clerg , identified as  Pastor Ibikunle Olarewaju John (pictured top left), confessed to Crime Guard during the parade, that he administered  an oath of secrecy on the gang members, on the day they attacked the Muritala Mohammed Airport.

Syndik8 member and Pepsi ambassador Lynxxx might have just landed himself in soup due to his recent exploits on the night scene. The Jollof music crooner was at N-tyce night club; a new club in Victoria Island partying with the rest of his crew last Friday. Himself, Ikechukwu’s brother Uzzi, SDC, Uti Nwachukwu, Banky W, Timi Dakolo and a host of other musicians were at the club when a scuffle broke out. Security at the club quickly pushed out the people that started the fight, and at the centre of it was Lynxxx who said a certain Richard a.k.a Pope slapped his cousin.


The manager of the night club pleaded with Lynxxx and his syndicate crew who numbered about 30 to make peace but they insisted that Richard must be brought out of the club. He broke a bottle and stabbed Richard while also injuring and cutting himself by mistake. The whole club turned upside down as guests scampered out for safety.
