In 1975, Amancio Ortega started a garment factory called Zara with his wife in La Coruna, Spain. The city la coruna is a little more than 300 miles from madrid and 555 miles from barcelona. A very odd location for an aggressive, global company like Inditex. Imagine a Nigerian brand producing in Akure or Ekiti. In this city, Inditex has its HQ which houses its in-house designers, commercial team, seamsters, seamstresses and so on. They basically imitate the latest fashions and speed their cheaper versions into stores. Every one of Inditex’s brands — Zara, Zara Home, Bershka, Massimo Dutti, Oysho, Stradivarius, Pull & Bear and Uterqüe follow the Zara template: trendy and decently made but inexpensive products sold in beautiful, high-end-looking stores. The man today at 79yrs old is the second richest man in the world. Here are lessons i think any aspiring designer or fashion entrepreneur can learn from Zara - the fast-fashion clothing giant.

Rick Ross Reignites 50 Cent Rap Feud: Demands Bankrupt Rapper Pay Baby Mama
Rick Ross and 50 Cent have been exchanging insults on social media again and it may have all started over a shirt. It’s no secret that the two rappers cannot stand each other. The feud between Rick Ross and 50 Cent has been going on for years and it looks like there is no end in sight.
Over the weekend, Rick Ross found out that 50 Cent had been selling t-shirts with a photo of the “B.M.F.” rapper’s tattooed chest online. To add insult to injury, the price on the Rick Ross ripoff shirts was just $2.95. Well rather than hit 50 Cent up with some copyright or trademark lawsuit (and to be honest that might be in the works) Rick Ross jumped on Twitter and started clowning 50 Cent for the new line of business.
Rick Ross tweeted, “Forced into #BANKRUPTCY now the Donkey @50cent WORKING 4 #MMG Merch co. selling T’s for 2.95 on the #BLACKMARKET haaa!” Ross wasn’t making things up. 50 Cent really did file for bankruptcy in July, but only after Rick Ross’ baby mama sued the “In Da Club” rapper and won to the tune of $5 million.

Customers Set To Fight CBN, Banks Over BVN
Several banks had sent out messages to their customers last week warning that access to their accounts would be barred unless they were BVN compliant by October 31.
Spokesman for Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Ibrahim Muazu, told Vanguard yesterday that denial of access to non-BVN compliant accounts had gone into force and the apex bank would not extend the deadline for compliance as it did last June, when the first deadline expired.

Ignore Messages Requesting For BVN – CBN Informs The Public
The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) on Friday urged bank customers to be cautious of unknown individuals alerting them on the deactivation of their bank accounts due to incomplete registration for Bank Verification Number.
This is contained in a statement by Mr Ibrahim Mu’azu, Director, Corporate Communications of the CBN posted on the apex bank’s website.
The statement gave example of the message as: Dear customers, due to the new BVN policy of the CBN your account have been deactivated and to reactivate call….
The Central Bank of Nigeria wishes to warn individuals and the general public that those messages are intended to lure bank account holders to reveal their personal details with which the fraudsters could use to defraud them.
The statement warned the public that neither the CBN nor their employees or agents would ever call bank customers or send e-mail/text messages requesting for passwords, card details or Personal Identification Number.
It, however, advised bank customers to personally visit their banks for any issue requiring disclosure of personal bank details.

China Ends One Child Policy
China announced the end of its hugely controversial one-child policy on Thursday, after decades of strict, sometimes brutal enforcement left it with an ageing population and shrinking workforce that has heightened the challenges of slowing economic growth.
All couples will be allowed two children, the official Xinhua news agency reported, citing a communique issued by the ruling Communist Party following a four-day meeting in Beijing.
The historic change was "intended to balance population development and address the challenge of an ageing population", Xinhua said.
It was "good news for the couples who wish to have a second child," Maya Wang of Human Rights Watch told AFP, but "the restrictions on reproduction rights remain in China".
"As long as the quotas and system of surveillance remains, women still do not enjoy reproductive rights," she said, adding that change in policy was for "primarily economic reasons".

n Twitter: "'Two Child Policy' won't end forced sterilisations, forced abortions, gov control over birth permits."
Campaigners welcomed the move, but stressed that a "two-child policy" still meant that China would retain population control mechanisms -- while demographic changes will take decades to have an effect, and previous loosenings led to fewer extra births than expected.

Lil Wayne and Diddy’s entourages were involved in a fight in Miami on Sunday night. The incident happened when Lil Wayne and his crew approached Diddy and his posse in the VIP section. Diddy’s security said they needed to search Wayne and his group. This set Lil Weezy off , he spilled his drink on the body guard, both started shoving each other.
Ironically, the nightclub is the same place Diddy reportedly got into a fight with Drake over the “0 to 100″ beat. As you may recall, Drake ended up in the hospital with a disclosed shoulder.
Wayne and Diddy eventually settle the uproar , they shook hands and carried on with their night.

I was born in Lagos and I spent pretty much of my time in the UK and the other half in Nigeria, between Lagos and Ibadan. I moved back to the UK in 1998 and I have been here in like seventeen years now. I studied Business Information Technology at Manchester College of Arts and Technology and I went on to study Management at Manchester Metropolitan University.
Pretty much later in Manchester, I worked in various capacities…in terms of sales and business development. I had the opportunity to work in an environment they manufactured and supply luxury kitchens and I guess that where the interest in creativity started mainly. I was trained by the firm in terms of designs in kitchens.
I moved on from there, I guess it’s the Nigerian in me wanting to set up my own company and I set this company up in 2009/2010.

World Most Expensive Biscuit Sold For £15,000
A BISCUIT that survived the sinking of the Titanic and has been described as the most expensive in the world has sold for £15,000 at auction. A photo of the iceberg that is believed to have sunk the cruise liner fetched £21,000 at the same auction today. Scoop Both went under the hammer at Henry Aldridge & Son auctioneers in Devizes in
Wiltshire. And the biscuit sold for £5,000 more than it was expected to go for. The Spillers and Bakers ”Pilot” biscuit survived the sinking of the Titanic in 1912 in which around 1,500 people died. It was part of a survival kit stored within one of the ill-fated ocean liner’s lifeboats and was kept as a souvenir.

Prostitute Died After Several Rounds Of Sex With Many Customers
A prostitute saw her end when she died after a several rounds of s*x with several customers in a brothel in Enugu State.
The incident, which occurred on Saturday, led to the arrest of the last customer who spent the night with her, a man named Ikechukwu Oga.
Ikechukwu had gone to a brothel where he met with the deceased and struck a sex deal. The Clinton Police Department released sordid details about the recent kidnapping and subsequent sexual abuse of a Florida man visiting Jackson, Mississippi to participate in a bodybuilding competition.
The unnamed victim was walking through downtown Jackson when 43 year old Cathy Priest allegedly forced him by gunpoint into her Mazda Miata and drove him to her mobile home in nearby Clinton.
The victim’s hands and ankles were bound and a butt plug inserted into his rectum. He was then forced to perform oral sex on Melon for up to 4 hours at a time, over the course of seven days.

Murder Of Hunchback: Suspected Ritualist Nabbed By PoliceIin Abia
Abia State police command has arrested a suspected ritualist, Marshal Nwankwo, of Dikeukwu autonomous community in Umuahia North Local Government Area of Abia State, for allegedly killing a hunchback, Mr. Ukata Iheme, for money making purposes.
The suspect, who was said to have committed the crime with another suspect, Emeka Okoye, now at large, allegedly killed and buried the victim.
Abia State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Mr. Onyeke Udeviotu, who confirmed the incident, said the suspect was arrested, following information that he was alleged to have been sighted last with the victim before his disappearance.
According to the Police, the suspect on interrogation made useful statements that led to the discovery of the grave where the body of the victim was buried.
Following his confession, the decomposing corpse of the victim was last Tuesday exhumed from the grave.

Why Governor Wike Was Sacked
Rivers State Elections Vanguard Tribunal, sitting in Abuja, yesterday, nullified the April 11 election that brought Governor Nyesom Wike to power.
The three-man tribunal, headed by Justice Suleiman Ambrosa, upheld the petition filed against the election by the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its gubernatorial candidate in the state, Hon. Dakuku Peterside.
Peterside hailed the verdict as a victory for democracy in Nigeria while Wike and his Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) vowed to appeal.
On its part, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) said it will decide what to do after receiving a copy of the judgment.

Ministerial Screening: How Amaechi Survived
PRIOR to Thursday, 22 October, the political atmosphere was tensed, intrigues, backstabbing, high wired politics were at play, making many become skeptical of the entire political system. It was like when the time comes, the building of the red chambers of the National Assembly would collapse; the Senate will not screen and clear him, especially against the backdrop of petitions against him on alleged fraud and this came from a group called, Integrity group based in Port harcourt, Rivers State.
After all the hullabaloo that surrounded his nomination as a ministerial nominee by President Muhammadu Buhari and his name submitted to the Senate through the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, his appearance before the Senator Samuel Anyanwu led Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions, behold, the day finally came last Thursday, for the screening of former Speaker, Rivers State House of Assembly, immediate past governor of Rivers State and former Director- General, Presidential Campaign of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi.
With his supporters, Amaechi stormed the National Assembly and was received into the red chamber of the Senate where he was finally screened as a ministerial nominee by the senators. The screening was however not devoid of legislative politricks and drama. The Senate President, Bukola Saraki, and the All Progressives Congress, APC members in the senate, insisted on the screening of Amaechi despite the stiff opposition from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP senators.

THE Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo has restated that the current administration of President Muhammadu Buhari will recover all looted funds and fight corruption to a standstill.
He said this Thursday in Ibadan at a conference on corruption held at the University of Ibadan.

Amaechi Fiinally Enters Senate Chamber For Screening
After weeks of high-wired politics, former Governor of Rivers State, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, was finally received on Thursday, into the hallowed chamber of the Senate to be screened as a ministerial nominee by Senators.
Amaechi was led into the chamber at about 1.38pm by Chairman of his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Odigie Oyegun and Speacial Adviser to the President on National Assembly (Senate), Sen. Ita Enang.
This came, following the formal receipt by the Senate of report of the Sen Samuel Anyanwu-led Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petition, over a petition bordering on allegations of fraudulent practices during his tenure as the governor of the state.
The petition against Amaechi was sent to the Senate by an anti-corruption group, Integrity Group.

6 Year Old Chicago Boy, Accidentally Shoots, Kills 3 Year Old Brother
A Chicago man has been charged with child endangerment after his three-year-old son was shot and killed by his six-year-old brother while the two were playing, police said on Sunday.
The six-year-old found the loaded revolver on top of the refrigerator and shot little brother Eian Santiago in the head on Saturday evening, according to police and the Cook County Medical Examiner's office. The older brother's name was not disclosed.
The boys' father, Michael Santiago, 25, was arrested and charged with child endangerment, a felony. He appeared in court on Sunday, but bond details were not immediately available.
"He was a beautiful kid. It's real crazy," the grandfather, Israel LaSalle, said in a tearful interview on CLTV, a local television station. "That's why parents should never have guns in the house."
The shooting happened at about 9:05 p.m. CDT (1405 GMT) in the Humboldt Park neighborhood in northwest Chicago. The three-year-old was carried by a family member a block away to Norwegian American Hospital, and then transported to Mount Sinai Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead shortly before midnight, officials said.
Michael Santiago told police he was a former member of the Spanish Cobras street gang and had purchased the gun from a gang member for protection, police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi, told the Chicago Tribune.

Apapa-Oshodi and Lagos - Abeokuta Expressway Are Not Designed For Pressure – LASG
The state government stressed that the roads were not designed for the pressure they are presently subjected to.
Also, the state government said litigations and slow pace of work by contractors appointed by the Federal Government were some of the reasons for the delay in execution of pedestrian bridge projects across the state.
Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, Ajibade Bade–Adebowale and the General Manager of the Lagos State Public Works Corporation, LSPWC, Mr. Ayo Shodeinde disclosed these while addressing newsmen.
Shodeinde said, “We have two roads that are of major challenges to us. They are Apapa-Oshodi Expressway and Lagos-Abeokuta Express way.
‘’During the era of President Olusegun Obasanjo, the reconstruction was done by Messer Julius Berger, but the road later failed. The state government, knowing this, has continuously embarked on palliative works on the road. We have discovered that the road had failed even from inception.
“This was also the reason for the persistent gridlock experienced by motorists on the Apapa-Oshodi Expressway. This road is substandard compared to the pressure it is subjected to. The volume of vehicles plying the road daily is massive,” he added.
On the persistent traffic in other axis, LSPWC boss disclosed that some residents often cut the road at night, saying: “this act causes traffic gridlock in the state. And that was why we have asked the Nigerian Police to arrest anyone found cutting road at night.’’
Bade–Adebowale added that the litigation by a resident at Cement Bus Stop, Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway was responsible for the delay in the completion of the pedestrian bridge across the road.

Foreign Firm To Invest $260m In Agric, Power, Other Sectors
Mr. Franck Alain Behiblo, Head of Corporate Development at Quantum Global who was in the country for World Pension Summit Africa in Abuja, in an interview, said that the fund manager is earnestly yearning to invest in the country’s power, hospitality, and other sectors.
“We have about $260million funds for agriculture. We are looking at the mining sector, health care, hospital sector and structured equity whereby we will provide equity for some of the young companies in Africa, we are looking at hotel.
“Quantum is a fund manager in private equity. We have funds in certain sectors of the economy. We are looking at infrastructure, transportation, roads, mining, healthcare and agriculture.” Behiblo said the organisation will invest the funds in batches while it has $50million ready for investment in power and hospitality.
