Her husband, Givemore Chinembiri, 34, a brick moulder, severely assaulted her after she confronted him, and Abigail allegedly warmed cooking oil which later burned their three-year-old son on his right leg.
Recounting how it all happened, Abigail said, “It was around midnight when I went to check if my husband was still at the funeral and one of the mourners tipped me that he was drinking beer with a woman and they left for a place where I caught them pants down. Upon confronting them over that immoral act, he attacked me instead of apologising and we went home where he went on to assault me more.
I am not sure if I am going to be okay anymore because he continued to attack me all over my body on the street after I left home to make a police report. My child was strapped on my back when he attacked me and that child was burnt by the boiling cooking oil I wanted to use in baking.
The woman he was with is not from our neighbourhood, but one of the mourners who came to attend a funeral at our neighbour’s.”
Her husband has been arrested and is currently in detention.
Abigail, said to have been bleeding profusely from her nose and mouth after the assault, denied her husband’s allegations that she boiled the cooking oil which ended up on their son’s right leg with plans to scald him.
