NASS LEADERSHIP CRISIS: APC Leaders, BOT Meet Tomorrow
Governor Tanko Al-Makura of Nasarawa State has disclosed that top leaders and caucus of the All Progressives Congress, APC, would meet on Tuesday to take a decisive action over the National Assembly leadership tussle. The governor stated this during an interview on Sunday with newsmen in Lafia, the state capital. While lamenting the crisis caused by the tussle, Al-Makura insisted that despite the incident, the party remained united and unshaken. He also assured that after Tuesday’s meeting, the party would come out more stronger and united than ever before.
He said, “There is nothing abnormal about what happened, it is politics because APC is conglomerate of different interests. I consider what happened in the National Assembly as something natural and in spite of the bad blood that was generated during the elections, we remain one family. “The party leaders caucus and BOT have been invited for a meeting which I believe is a way forward in finding lasting solution to the crisis in the National Assembly. We in APC consider Saraki and Lawan as brothers, as well as Dogara and Gbajabiamila as brothers.” According to the governor, inspite of the bad blood the crisis generated, the party leader’s caucus and the BOT would find a lasting solution to it.
