The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Tuesday invited former Governor Martin Elechi of Ebonyi State for interrogation.
A source at the EFCC said in Abuja, Elechi arrived at the commission’s office at 10 a.m.
The source said the former governor was at the commission to honour the invitation by EFCC.
On Jan. 29, the EFCC also invited the former governor’s son, Nnanna Elechi, for interrogation.
The former governor, who left office on May 29, after a second term, could not face the anti-graft agency earlier since he had constitutional immunity against prosecution.

An invitation letter signed by Aminudeen Muhammad on behalf of chairman, addressed to the Secretary to the State Government indicated that the officials would appear before the anti-graft agency today and tomorrow.
The affected officials are the state accountant general, permanent secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture, his works counterpart, and the General Manager of Katsina State Road Maintenance Agency (KASROMA).
According to the invitation letter, the officials are directed to appear before the EFCC with documents detailing financial transactions in their respective ministries and departments.
The state accountant general who is billed to appear today, is directed to appear with statutory budget of the state from 2011-2015 and details of all allocation made to the state from the federation account from 2011 to May 2015.
He is also to present details of all allocations made to the 34 local governments in the state from the Federation Account from 2011 to May 2015 and, fund releases made to KASAROMA, Ministries of Works, Agric and Sports from 2011 to May 2015.
The KASAROMA boss, and, permanent secretaries of agric and works are scheduled to appear before the agency on Thursday and, are directed to appear with records of all contracts awarded, yearly budget, actual fund releases and actual expenditure from 2011-2015.
The letter states that the “commission is investigating a case in which the need to obtain certain clarification” from the officials is imperative.
