For a whole week now, she’s pitched tent in Nairobi courtesy of Coke Studio Africa. She will be one of the must-see acts on the show, returning for a third season this year.
VeeMoney’s Nobody but Me featuring South African rapper K.O has brought her massive following and success. She is expected to red0 the song at Coke Studio Africa season 3 new mash-up style in a pairing with one of Africa’s most bankable stars from Nigeria.
It doesn’t stop there - VeeMoney has been featured by Essence Magazine in their upcoming Global Issue (August 2015). Essence magazine crew flew to East Africa in a mission to find the coolest destinations and people. “We were instantly impressed by Vanessa’s style and vibe, we're also totally hooked to her new song Nobody But Me,” Essence Magazine touted her via Instagram. Essence also caught up with VeeMoney in Kenya. They sat into her recording and rehearsals on set of Coke Studio Africa, and were thoroughly impressed with what they heard. Vanessa is said to be working closely with Erykah Badu, who has also been in Kenya this week working on an Essence project.
There’s more! Vanessa has joined forces with seven of Africa’s most popular songstresses for the ONE mission, “Poverty is Sexist” project. They include former Coke Studio Africa divas: Victoria Kimani (Kenya), Waje (Nigeria), Yemi Alade (Nigeria) and many others. The campaign calling on world leaders to put girls and women in the forefront in 2015 has an epic byproduct, the song: Strong Girl.
