The Federal government has downgraded and declared Asaba Airport in Delta state unsafe for travelers. In a statement released by the Federal Ministry of Aviation yesterday May 5th, the Aviation ministry stated that the airport facility was downgraded and declared unsafe due to the failure of the Delta State government to fix key infrastructure such as undulating runways as well as provision of perimeter fence at the airport as directed by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority.
“The Federal Government has downgraded the Asaba Airport over the failure of the Delta State government to put in place measures that would guarantee the safety and security of passengers using the airport.” the statement in part reads
