How ‘pastor’ and ‘Imam’ who formed kidnap gang in Osun were arrested Seun Ogunmusuru was popularly called pastor by those who know him in Ilesa, Osun State, while Hammed Adewumi is said to be an Islamic cleric who was leading a congregation as an Imam in Ibadan, but if one would go by the allegation of kidnapping that is currently against them at the Osun State Police Command and the confessional statements they had made to the police, then the duo would need to do a lot to convince people that they were indeed working for God. Ogunmusuru and Adewumi are currently with detectives at the State Criminal Investigation Department, Osogbo where they had been undergoing interrogations on their alleged criminal activities. The duo and others at large had allegedly been terrorizing residents of different towns in Osun State by kidnapping them and collecting ransom. Sunday Tribune learnt that Ogunmusuru was arrested at Ijebu-Jesa on December 14 while Adewumi was nabbed on Saturday, December 22 in his boutique at Academy area of Ibadan after the police had been on their trail for some time. Their arrest was reportedly made possible by the confessional statement of a suspected gang member, Supo Bamidele who was earlier arrested. Bamidele’s case had been charged to court while his case was adjourned till January 31, 2013 for further hearing. Before the arrest, Sunday Tribune learnt that residents of Osogbo, Ile-Ife, Ilesa, Modakeke, Ekiti, Ibadan and some other commercial cities in the South West had sent Save-Our-Soul (SOS) messages to the Osun State Police Commissioner, Mrs Kalafite Adeyemi to come to their rescue with a view to bringing an end to the activities of Adewumi and his gang which had allegedly carried out several kidnap operations. In an interview with Sunday Tribune, Ogunmusuru, a 25-year-old Ilesa, Osun State indigene said he used to work as a labourer before he met a member of the kidnap gang who is still at large. “I met Ifeoluwa in Akure around May or June 2012 when I went there to work. He was an okada rider and he picked me. When I wanted to disembark, I gave him money but he refused to collect it from me. I asked him why but he said I should not worry. I appreciated him and asked for his number. He gave me and I used to call him from time to time if I was broke. “Later, I told him of what I was going through and informed him that the person I was staying with had pressurised me to leave. That was how he told me that he had a room at Ilesa, asking whether I could manage it. I said I would appreciate it if he could give me. He gave me the key to the place and I started staying there. “He also rented an apartment at Ijebu-jesa, in Osun State. One day, I asked him where he was but he replied that he was not around. However, I guessed he was at his apartment at Ijebu-Jesa so I went there. I asked of him from his friends whom I met there but they said he was not around. I sat with them in the sitting room to watch film. After a while, I went to the toilet to ease myself and on my way back, I saw shoes by the door of his room. I opened the door and saw two of his friends and a stranger. They asked me to help them stay with the stranger. “I stayed with them for some days after which they told me to go back to Ilesa as they wanted to go somewhere. Later in the evening, they came to me in Ilesa. Ifeoluwa was with them. He then told me that there was more to the man I saw in the morning, that they wanted to collect some money from him. Ifeoluwa didn’t say directly that they kidnapped him. He said they had collected the money and had returned him. They said that since I was not part of the initial plan, they would give me N100,000 to enjoy myself. Since then, I have been with them. “Another night, they called me that we should go out. We went on a bike. They warned me that I should calm down and not shout when we get there. We went to an area in Ilesa around 12 midnight and kidnapped a boy. The boy called Wole was taken to Ijebu-Jesa and Yinusa, Dada and I used to stay with him. He spent about a week before he was released. I was told that the gang collected N1.5million as ransom amd I was given N150,000. “On the day I was arrested, I was on the bike with Dada on our way to Ijebu-Jesa when policemen stopped us. “On the day we went to pick Wole, we did not take any gun with us but the gang saw a gun in the boy’s house and they picked it. Those I knew as gang members were Dada, Ifeoluwa, Yinusa and Afaa omo Okene. I have never worked with Hammed directly but we had met before at Ifeoluwa’s place. I knew him as Ifeoluwa’s friend.” A locally-made gun was said to have been recovered in the house of another suspected gang member, Ifeoluwa, who is currently on the run. Items recovered from Adewumi during a search of his house included one tiny gourd and a leather charm. Seven motorcycles allegedly belonging to Ifeoluwa, Yinusa and Adedeji Dada were also recovered in Ilesa. It was gathered that before he was subdued by police detectives, Adewumi tried to swallow the tiny gourd and made another attempt to hit one of the policemen who went to arrest him with the leather charm. He reportedly told the police that it was God who arrested him as they were not strong enough to do so. He also rhetorically asked himself how he could be arrested so easily. The gang had kidnapped one Ogundoyin Popoola a.k.a ‘popular’ in Ife. Unconfirmed reports had it that his wife paid N10 million before he was released. They also abducted one Wole Komolafe, son of one Sunday Komolafe who had before the kidnap of his son received a threat letter pasted on his uncompleted building. The kidnappers asked him to pay the sum of N40 million. It was gathered however that before the kidnappers abducted their victim, his father did not report the issue of the threat letter to the police. Again, one Alhaji Kayode Adenuga popularly called Igi-nla (big tree) was kidnapped by the gang on June 14, 2012 while one Olanrewaju Oladipo was also abducted by same syndicate on September 29, 2012. On October 29, 2012, Adewumi, who ran a big boutique at Academy area of Ibadan, and his gang allegedly kidnapped one Evangelist Olajide John while Alhaji Akeem Sulaiman, a building material trader was also abducted by the same syndicate. It was however gathered that Adewumi had admitted the kidnap of ‘Popular’ Only. Investigations Are Still Ongoing.

BREAKING NEWS: FG Sets To`Procure 10million Mobile Phones Worth AAbout N60million.
The Federal Government is to procure 10million mobile phones worth about N60 billion from China and the US for free distribution to rural farmers across the country.
Questions:
•Are they buying blackberry porsche for these farmers?
•Are they going to preload the Presidents number in all the phones? As the reason for the purchase is because they want the farmers to have direct contact with the Government.
•Who did the calculation and came up with 10million farmers? Was Obasanjo counted as well?
•Even @ N6,000 per phone, will the farmer plant the phones to grow more phones?
•If they're buying the phones in bulk, doesn't it attract a large volume of discount?
•Did the farmers complain that their problem is a mobile phone?
Possible facts:
•Maybe Obama will distribute the phones himself.
•Maybe the phones have inbuilt shovel and fertalizer in them.
•Maybe the phones have inbuilt tractors.
GOD BLESS NIGERIA.

Twins Arrested After Fighting Over Who'd Have Sex With Shared GF
But the arrangement got violent on New Year’s Eve, according to The Hartford Courant reports.
Aric Ryan Hale and Sean Peter Hale, both 28, were arrested after fighting over who would have sex with their shared 27-year-old girlfriend. The woman is reportedly in an open relationship with the twins and is sexually intimate with both of them “depending on who she chooses to be with that particular day,” police spokesman Capt. Christopher Davis said.
Both men were with the woman at a local hotel when Sean asked his brother to leave the room so that he could have sex with their girlfriend. Aric refused and the twins began throwing punches at each other and destroying the room. They were later arrested at an Ellington residence.
Aric was slapped with two counts each of third-degree assault and disorderly conduct and one count of third-degree criminal mischief. His brother was charged with two counts of disorderly conduct and one count of third-degree criminal mischief.

$1 million Suite Rented By Jay-Z To Serve As A Nursery For Blue Ivy, When She’s Watching A Game
So, it comes as no surprise that Jay would want to set up his little girl with some posh digs when he’s watching Brooklyn Nets games at the Barclays Center. According to Us Weekly, the “Watch the Throne” rapper rents a nursery downstairs for baby Blue — and it’s not cheap.
“Jay rents a luxurious basement suite for $1 million a year,” a source tells the magazine. “It has an area for Blue filled with toys.”
And the space does double-duty as a hangout for Jay’s adult pals.
“It’s all glass with a champagne bar and TV screen,” says the source. “Jay lets friends use his digs when he’s not there.”
Sounds as if the suite would make a nice backdrop for Blue’s first birthday bash. That’s right, baby Carter turns 1 next week.

Fatoke Abiodun (King Sunny Ade's) Ex-Guitarist, Caught With Cocaine
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, said that Abiodun was arrested on 1 January while attempting to board an Air France flight to Italy at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos, southwest Nigeria.
“We have made the first arrest in the new year. The suspect, a guitarist by name Fatoke Abiodun was found with 1.575kg of cocaine. The drug was discovered in the false bottom of his luggage during the outward screening of passengers to Italy,” said ,NDLEA Commander the Lagos Airport, Mr Hamza Umar.
The agency said the 62-year old grandfather with four wives and many children, is helping narcotic investigators handling the case.
“Fatoke has owned up to the alleged crime blaming his involvement on financial hardship,” said the agency’s spokesperson, Mitchell Ofoyeju.
NDLEA quoted Fatoke as saying: “I played for King Sunny Ade for 30 years before I was unceremoniously retired in 2007. I was unprepared and without severance money I saw the bitter side of life.”
He said his drug trafficking attempt is his first as he did it out of frustration.
“Because at my age I could not provide for my family. I am ashamed of myself,” he was quoted as saying.
NDLEA Chairman, Ahmadu Giade described the involvement of Fatoke in drug trafficking as sad and disappointing.
“It is sad and disappointing for a grandfather to be involved in drug trafficking. This is a bad legacy to his children. This is a good start for the agency in the year and a sign that the days ahead will be tough for drug traffickers. The agency will continue to handle every case in accordance with the NDLEA Act,” Giade was quoted as saying.
The suspect will be charged to court for unlawful exportation and possession of narcotics, NDLEA said.

Teenager Got Impregnated Twice By Father.
It was discovered during investigation that his daughter Janet(not real name)got pregnant in the process twice, only for her father to allegedly ab*rt the pregnancy with the aid of a herbalist.
Sitting at a corner in the Human Rights Office, 17-year-old Janet could not raise her head to face her father, Wale Akinusi, who was also there. When approached, she simply stated that at last, she had been freed from the psychological trauma associated with her father’s sacrilegious act.
Crime Alert gathered that Janet’s tale of woe started after her mother abandoned her barely when she was two-year-old for her paternal grandmother.
It was gathered that her mother who was then a Junior Secondary 3 student, was impregnated by Wale who was 32 years old. Initially, he reportedly denied paternity of the pregnancy but later opted for an ab*rtion on the ground that he could not afford to father a child then because he was only an apprentice.
But his mother came to the rescue as she offered to take care of the baby who turned out to be Janet.
But when she was 12, her father, reportedly took her from her grandmother, with a promise to give
her a better education.
Rather than live up to his promise, her father, allegedly use her to satisfy his s–xual urge, a practice that went on until he was arrested.
Narrating how it all started, Janet in her sitting position with her head bowed all through, said: “When I was leaving my grandmother’s house, I was happy because my father said I would be attending a better school. But I waited for months without being enrolled in any school.
“One night, then, I was 12,my dad called me into his room and told me he took an oat with my mother to be the first man to sleep with me. He said it had a spiritual connotation and that it was to enable him assume his proper financial state.
“Then, I was too young to understand what he meant. He had carnal knowledge of me that night. At a point, he asked if it was painful. All I did was to watch him have his way, still unable to understand what he was doing.”

“It continued until I was 14 years. Then, I started having a funny feeling. I told him I was sick and when we conducted a pregnancy test, it was positive. Next day, he told me we were going somewhere and we ended up in the home of a herbalist in Ikorodu, who gave me some concoction. I drank some in his apartment and took the rest home. After two days, my menstruation started and my father assured me all was well.
He only gave me a week’s break before he continued all over again. Two years later, when I was 16 years, I got sick again. When I informed daddy, we went for another pregnancy test which confirmed my fear; I was pregnant again!
When he returned next day from his shop, he told me there was no need to go to the herbalist. Rather he gave me two sachets of Alabukun and squeezed some lime juice into a cup, asking me to take it in a gulp. It did the magic and the menstrual flow started few days later.”
“After the second ab*rtion, I became tired of the whole thing. I started being afraid every night. At times, I would put tissue paper under my panties , pretending I was witnessing my monthly flow. After a while, he got the trick, for he started taking note of the date.
Challenges father
“I summoned courage and reported the sacrilegious act to our neighbors. But none of them could confront him. Rather they told me they could not interfere into our family affair” , she stated, with her head still bent.
Apparently discouraged by the cold reaction from the neighbors, Janet decided to take the bull by the horn. Looking straight into his father’s eyes for the very first time since the sacrilegious act started, she told her father she was tired of the whole thing. To make do her threat, she reportedly rushed to the kitchen, grabbed a knife and threatened to stab him if he attempted to force her.
“This happened on November 28, 2012. My father had come home from his shop . And at about 6pm, he called me inside to warm his bed. But when he saw the knife, he retraced his steps. I quickly ran inside my room , with the knife in my hand and packed my things out of the house, to stay with a friend whose family welcomed me after I narrated all that has been going on in the past five years.”
“After spending three weeks with them, I received a text message from my father, asking me to come home, or I would die. When I showed the text message to the family I was putting up with, they suggested I reported the case to the police. I hesitated at first because I was scared he would be jailed.
“But I changed my mind when the text message threat continued”, she said.
I did that to appease the gods – father
When approached, it was obvious that 49-year-old Wale Akinusi, a fashion designer who hails from Ondo central in Ondo state was oblivious of the legal implication of the offense, as he showed no sign of remorse.
He bluntly told this reporter that what he did was not new under the sun, adding that this would not be the first time such story would be published on the pages of newspapers.
“It is not a new thing that a man is sleeping with his daughter and even if I am jailed at the end, I will surely come out after serving my jail term. But I promise that my daughter will join me” he threatened, dismissing the issue with a wave of the hand.
Continuing, he said: “I went back to claim my child so as to fulfill the oat made between her mother and I. That was why I took her to the herbalist when she was pregnant, so as to appease the gods of her mother’s land. You will not understand.
“You see, when her mother was six months pregnant, we made love. She later told me that it was a taboo for a man to sleep with a pregnant woman in her place. She said the only remedy was for the man to be the first person to sleep with the child.
“I initially did not want to do it. But along the line, I discovered that things were not going on well with me financially. And when I made inquiry, I was made to understand that I had to appease the god’s of her mother’s land, so as to attain my rightful place in destiny.”
Asked why he continued after the first time, he kept mute. Also asked why he did not satisfy his sexual urge on his wife who has had four children for him, he explained that they were leaving apart.
“My wife lives in Ketu with the children while I live in Ojo. I had to live apart because I do not want my wife and children to suffer the consequences of my sin. Also I did not want my wife to know I was sleeping with my own daughter”, he said.
Meanwhile, effort according to sources at the Human Rights department, was on to arrest the herbalist who allegedly gave Janet the concoction that aborted her first pregnancy, while her father would be charged to court.

"His friends said Kelvin was good at studies. Some personal problem could be the reason for committing suicide," said a senior police officer. Some sources do however allege that Kevin was pushed, others say he was killed then pushed.
