… 50kg Bag For N12,000; 25kg For N6,000; 10kg For N2,500
…This Is A Historic Moment For Lagos, Kebbi, Says Lagos Gov

Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode and his Kebbi State counterpart, Alhaji Atiku Bagudu on Wednesday launched the much anticipated Lagos-Kebbi Rice christened LAKE RICE, saying that the partnership which culminated into the launch was not only designed to ensure food security but showcase the ability of Nigeria to become a producing nation.

Speaking at the launching ceremony held at Lagos House in Ikeja, Governor Ambode said the development was a great and historic moment for both states and Nigeria, as the rice would not only be sold at highly reduced price, compared to what obtains in the market, but is also very fresh and safe for consumption.

“Today is an historic day for Lagos and Kebbi States. In March 2016, we signed an MOU with an understanding that we, being proudly Nigeria, we want to come out with what is made in Nigeria and what is good in Nigeria. We took all that President Muhammadu Buhari said that we need to grow our food and we decided that we will prove a point and that is what today is all about.

Buhari Should Suspend Vehicle Importation Ban - Reps

Buhari, Suspend Vehicle Importation Ban - Yakubu Dogara (Speaker House of Representative)

The House of Representatives on Thursday asked the Federal Government to suspend its new policy of banning the importation of vehicles through land borders.
The lawmakers specifically advised President Muhammadu Buhari to intervene by urgently directing the Nigeria Customs Service to reverse the policy.
The policy is expected to come into effect from January 1, 2017.
Instead of enforcing a ban, the House called on the government to ensure that security agencies manned the land borders diligently to enforce the payment of import duties and ensure the remittance of same to the treasury.
“The House further urges the government to install border security and surveillance equipment for effective monitoring to address the recurring menace of smuggling and ensure a maximum revenue generation on all lawfully-imported goods,” the resolution stated.

Habits You Need To Be Successful

Many people wonder how they can become highly successful, not realizing that they hold within them everything they need to achieve all of the success they desire.
Successful people are where they are today because of their habits.  Habits determine 95% of a person’s behavior.
Everything that you are today, and everything that you will ever accomplish, is determined by the quality of the habits that you form.
By creating good habits and adopting a positive behavior, you too can become successful and live a prosperous life.

Successful People Maintain 7 Good Habits

For thousands of years, success in human life has been studied by great thinkers and philosophers.  I have personally studied the subject for more than 30 years.  What I have found is that the very best people have developed good habits.
I have identified seven valuable habits that you need to develop if you want to perform at your very maximum in everything you do.

1. They Are Goal Oriented

The first habit is to become goal oriented.
You need to be a habitual goal setter, and dedicate yourself to working from clear, written goals every day of your life.  All highly successful people are intensely goal oriented. They know exactly what they want, they have it written down, they have written plans to accomplish it, and they both review and work on their plans every single day.

My Husband Killed Himself

Just two years after our marriage, my husband brought up the idea of asking his Mother to move from the rural hometown and spend her remaining years
with us. His father passed away while he was still very young. His mum endured much hardship and struggled all on her own to provide for him, see him through to
the university. You could say that she suffered a great deal and did everything you could
expect or imagine of a woman to bring hubby to where he is today. I immediately agreed and started preparing the spare room, which has a
balcony facing the South to let her enjoy the sunshine and plant greenery.
Hubby stood in the bright room, and suddenly,
he lifted me up and started spinning round and round. As I begged him to
put me down, he said: "Lets go fetch mother".

Hubby stood in the bright room, and suddenly, he lifted me up and started

the feeling that he could pick me up at any moment, put me as smallish as I am into his pocket.
Whenever we have an argument and one of us refuses to back out, he would lift me up and
spin me over his head continuously until I surrender as I beg for
mercy. I became addicted to this kind of panic-joy feeling. Mother brought along her countryside habits and lifestyle with her. For example; I am so used to buying flowers to
decorate the living room, she could not stand it and would comment: "I do not
know how you young people spend your money, what do you buy flowers for? You also can't eat flowers!" I will smile and say,: "Mum, with flowers in the
house, our mood will also become better." Mother will grumble away, and my
husband will smile and tell her:

A statement by the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the Speaker, Mr. Iliya Habila, further quoted Dogara as saying that when the money is refunded to the states, it would assist them in providing critical infrastructure.

According to the speaker, “As regards debts being owed to states, I can announce that very soon no state will get less than N20 billion from the money that is coming.
“I believe they will be able to translate that money into development so that they could support the diversification policy of the Federal Government.”

Man Got Sacked For Looking At His Boss Wife...

I was sacked for telling my boss wife to close her leg.
My name is Andrew, a 27 year old graduate on business administration, i am currently working under my boss as his P.A, I've been a honest guy whilst working for him, this has brought us more closer. He was more a friend to me than a boss. This closeness got to a level that i advice his wife about what is right to do, and when she's bothered she won't hesitate to seek my counsel. I never in my wildest imagination believe that i could cross my limit when I saw my boss' wife sitting with mini skirts with her legs open, someone could have a clear vision of the structure of her........., i feeling that i could be doing right by teaching her some simple manners, told her 'to sit well', i don't know whether she pretended not to understand what i meant or she didn't actually but she ask what i meant by 'sit well', i told her to 'close her legs', now she got what i was saying and i could see some form of embarrassment written on her face, but I rendered warm apology, but she had no problem with me. It was my boss who came out with wearing a sad look on his face, i went to him and enquired the reason for the sadness, but i got a reply of 'just leave you bastard'. I knew he wasn't joking when he ordered the security to push me out even with me still wondering what was going on. The next day in the office, i got my sack letter with him giving me a farewell word, 'i know you've seen everything you've been longing to see, go and have a better view of ya moda's ****

...Feel Betrayed Iyanya Left My Label - Ubi Franklin

Earlier today, News broke that singer, Iyanya, has signed a new record deal with Don Jazzy’s Mavin records.
His former manager/business partner, Ubi Franklin, who spoke exclusively with Linda Ikejis Blog (LIB),on the new record deal, said he couldn’t be happier for Iyanya.

Read his interview below:
Q: News broke this morning that your former partner, Iyanya has signed onto Don Jazzy’s music label, Mavin Records. We would love to know your stance and reaction to this?
I’m happy for Iyanya. The truth is that, if you are happy for somebody, God will be happy with you and you will be happy with yourself. I don’t have anything against him.
This is music business and everything you do – as far your music is right and you are making the music for the world, it doesn’t depend on the label that you are in for all to enjoy it. I’m happy he is where great music comes out from, a label with one of the best music producers in Africa. I’m so happy for him, today is his birthday and I wish him all the best.
Q: Iyanya informed everyone initially that he was going to start up his own label. This has however changed. Do you feel betrayed?
We are all human beings; today Iyanya is 30 by age. As a 30-year-old man, you are able to take any decision on your own, you can change your mind, you can do whatever you want to do. The most important thing is that from what I’ve seen, trust me he is happy. Nobody takes a decision that is going to be bad for him.. I still know he still has his own plans for his Label. But at this point, I know Iyanya is where good music comes from.
Q: So you don’t feel betrayed?
No No! The only way I will feel betrayed is if there was something he owed me and he didn’t give back to me, but there is nothing like that. I’m happy for him.
Q: Do you see any more collaborations between your team and Iyanya in the future?
That’s the funny thing about music, everything is possible. When you see people in music having issues, just leave them, the wheel goes round, if you check my snapchat, I’m always dancing to his music. There might be a future collaboration, I’m open to anything. I’m a business man, there is nothing we are fighting for.

FBNH Reports N 58 bn PBT In Nine Months

FBNH Plc has recorded profit before tax of N57.5 billion for the nine months ended September 30, 2016 as against N59.6 billion posted in 2015. Gross earnings however, increased by 7.0 per cent y-oy to N417.3 billion from N390.0 billion reported a year earlier.
According to a statement from the Group, “The earnings reflect the strong business fundamentals as we keep the revenue momentum amidst a slow business environment.
However, despite the 56.5 per cent y-o-y increase in non-interest income to N131.0 billion, interest income declined by 7.3 per cent y-o-y to N278.6 billion as against N300.4 billion in September 2015.
“Net-interest income improved by 5.2 per cent y-o-y to N202.9 billion from N192.9 billion in 2015, driven by a 38.4 per cent reduction in interest expense on customers’ deposits to N56.7 billion as against N92.0 billion in September 2015.
“This was partly offset by a 7.3 per cent decline in interest income, largely due to a 4.7 per cent y-o-y drop in loans to customers to N193.0 billion from N202.5 billion in September 2015 due to tightening of our risk acceptance criteria, as well as 12.7 per cent y-o-y decrease in interest on investment securities to N74.1 billion from N85.0 billion.

Cybercrime: How To Tackle N78bn Yearly Losses, By FG

The Federal Government has listed key measures to be taken in Nigeria by individuals, corporate organisations and the governments to combat the N78 billion annual losses to increasing wave of cybercrime in the country.
The Minister of Communications, Mr. Adebayo Shittu, listed the strategies during a recent national computer science conference on cyber security and the emerging African economies at Igbinedion University, Okada, Edo State.
According to Adebayo, an effective response to cybercrimes requires a robust network security, including appropriate network architecture and software, use of encryption, data protection legislation, information security standards and other tools of threat protection and detection.
Other counter measures are to increase the awareness of information and communication technology (ICT) and cyberspace stakeholders on the need and possible strategies for combating and defeating cybercrime in all its ramifications and reduce the risk of data breaches and financial losses.
He said the country also needed to improve the capacity of relevant ICT and cyberspace stakeholders for the training and support of cyber security officials; share cyber security best practice from across the globe; build the capacity of local law enforcement in cybercrime prevention and cyber security footprint and ensure our curriculum adopt Internet Security education.
Besides, he stressed the need for advanced application development for capacity building and the encouragement of continuous research for development of indigenous security solutions, applications and tools to combat emerging threats in the fifth domain.
“We also need to build different layers of security defence such as installing Anti-virus tools, Firewall, Intrusion Prevention System (IPS), Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Honey Pot, System On Chip (SOC) and many more as well as show effectual strategies for drawing on the strengths of telecommunications in their efforts to tackle cybercrime,” he said.
Adebayo, however, said the Internet and digital technologies are the biggest transformational forces in the world today. “There are over five billion Internet-connected devices globally and in 2015 online commerce contributed over $10 trillion to the global economy,” he said.
According to him, the changing nature of economic and territorial threats have raised global concerns, stressing that the growing role of cyberspace has opened up new threats and new opportunities.
“This country must find ways to confront and overcome these threats if we are to remain functional as a sovereign entity in an increasingly competitive and globalised world,” he said.
He, therefore, disclosed that in the face of rising global insecurity and terrorism, the ministry is ready to partner with agencies to catalyse and develop world-class human and institutional capacity in cyber security.
According to him, the need for other frameworks such as cyber security awareness across business; cooperative arrangements between law enforcement and communication service providers across the nation and a criminal justice system that facilitate the efficient prosecution of cases of cybercrime are very germane.
“As we plan to settle into our duties of protecting our individual or corporate data, we ought to be continuously conscious of the reality of the cyber woes out there. Hence, there can be no better time to emphasise the need for strategic, continuous and innovative plans with respect to protecting our cyber space,” he said.

The FG Is Leaving No Stone Unturned - Minister of Finance Kemi Adeosun

The Minister of Finance, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun, yesterday told the visiting Director, African Department of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Mr. Abebe Aemro Selassie, that the Federal Government was leaving no stone unturned in its bid to make infrastructure development a priority.
Taking the visiting IMF chief through some of the initiatives of the current administration, the Minister in a statement, said the President Muhammadu Buhari administration was doing everything to make Nigeria productive in every aspect.
This, she said, would be achieved by shifting emphasis to the development of infrastructure, which had been neglected by previous administrations. She said with a population of about 180 million people, Nigeria has no choice but to be productive, adding that this can only be achieved through infrastructure.
She recalled : “The allocation for capital projects in 2015 budget was just 10 per cent while the recurrent was 90 per cent which had been the case in the past six to seven years.”
Adeosun gave assurance that the Federal Government was working with the private sector. , and justified Nigeria’s deficit budget, saying there is no problem with running a deficit budget as long as it is done with emphasis on capital project financing.

Earthquake Shakes Central Italy

Two strong earthquakes have hit central Italy, damaging buildings and sending scared residents into the streets.
A 5.5-magnitude quake struck at 1910 local time (1710 GMT) near Visso in Macerata province, officials said.
It was followed two hours later by a 6.1 magnitude tremor in the same area. Several people were hurt, but there were no immediate reports of deaths.
The quakes come two months after a powerful earthquake struck slightly to the south, killing 298 people.
The 6.2 magnitude quake, on 24 August, toppled buildings in Amatrice and villages in the mountainous region around the town, which is just 70km (45 miles) from Visso.
Wednesday’s earthquakes were felt across central Italy, including in the capital, Rome, where buildings shook and doors and windows rattled.
“Tens” of people were reported hurt, but only four people suffered serious injuries, Italy’s civil protection chief Fabrizio Curcio said.
The BBC’s Katya Adler, in Rome, says that emergency services in the affected areas are still assessing the situation.
The second earthquake was considerably stronger than the first and numerous smaller aftershocks have occurred. One witness told Italian TV he saw part of a building collapse in front of him.
The town of Camerino is thought to have been badly damaged, although the full extent of damage will not become apparent until after the darkness lifts on Thursday morning.
One resident told the BBC: “Everyone is leaving Camerino by foot or car to seek safety. Two churches are destroyed and many houses [have] fallen.”
In Campo, near Norcia in the Umbria region, the late 15th century San Salvatore church collapsed. It had been weakened by the earthquake in August.
There are also reports of downed power lines, damage to historic buildings and a landslide on a main road north of Rome.
“It was a very strong earthquake, apocalyptic,” Marco Rinaldi, mayor of Ussita to the east of Visso, told Italy’s Ansa news agency, referring to the second earthquake.
“People are screaming on the street and now we are without lights.”
Schools in the region will remain closed on Thursday, our correspondent reports.
Prime Minister Matteo Renzi is on his way to Rome, local media (in Italian) say.
The first earthquake, 7km south-southwest of Visso, was relatively shallow, at a depth of 9km (nearly six miles).
The second, at 2118 local time, was 2km north-northwest of Visso, at a depth of 10km.
These tremors were linked to the August earthquake, Italian officials said.
“Aftershocks can last for a long time, sometimes for months,” AFP news agency quoted Mario Tozzi of Italy’s National Institute of Geophysics as saying.

If A Woman Touches A Man's Private Part, Cut Her Hand - Says The Bible

Many will however be shocked by some verses of scripture in the Bible that they have not come across before. Here

1. Deuteronomy 25:11
This Bible verse is weird, funny and kind of scary. Deuteronomy 25:11 says:
“When two men are fighting and the wife of one of them intervenes to drag her husband clear of his opponent, if she puts out her hand and catches hold of the man by his privates, you must cut off her hand and show her no mercy.”

2. Psalms 137:9
This Bible verse is confusing and scary at the same time. It says: “Happy is the one who seizes your infants and dashes them against the rocks.”

3. 2 Kings 2: 23 – 24
Elijah was obviously in a bad mood here, no other way to explain it. 2 Kings 2: 23 – 24 says: “And he went up from thence unto Bethel: and as he was going up by the way, there came forth little children out of the city, and mocked him, and said unto him, Go up, thou bald head; go up, thou bald head.
“And he turned back, and looked on them, and cursed them in the name of the Lord. And there came forth two she bears out of the wood, and tare forty and two children of them.”

4. Leviticus 18:22
Homosexuality is spelled out as a sin clearly in this Bible verse: Leviticus 18:22 “You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination.”

5. There was a nudist here, why he was running around remains unclear. Mark 14: 51,52 has this to say: “And a young man followed [Jesus], with nothing but a linen cloth about his body. And they seized him, but he left the linen cloth and ran away naked.” Many believe the naked man was Mark.

6. 1 Peter 2:18
On the matter of slavery, the Bible had these to say, at 1 Peter 2: 18: “Slaves, in reverent fear of God submit yourselves to your masters, not only to those who are good and considerate, but also to those who are harsh.”

7. Jeremiah 19:9
Cannibalism? This Bible verse proclaims some scary things. Jeremiah 19:9 says: “I will make them eat the flesh of their sons and daughters, and they will eat one another’s flesh because their enemies will press the siege so hard against them to destroy them.”

SHOCKING: Knock Before Entering The Mortuary

Chima whose is popularly known as Emeka Ambulance, Okunmi Community, located at the suburbs of Ikom, Central senatorial district, Cross River state, has revealed that morticians have to battle the spiritual in the line of duty.
The mortician said that now and again, people in his line of business go through warfare with occultists and members of some secret societies before their corpses were embalmed in his mortuary.
The mortician must battle the spiritual sometimes.
Vanguard reports that the Arochukwu-born mortician, whose mortuary is located along Ikom-Calabar highway, confessed to NDV that dead bodies, especially those of occultists and members of secret societies “do give us trouble while being embalmed because their bodies have been ‘fortified’ by the devil or some spiritual forces.”
There are forces beyond the human
“In such cases, we have to pet and persuade them by talking to them to allow the chemicals to penetrate their bodies, but if they remain stubborn, we have to employ our own spiritual force and of course, power pass power and we can then embalm them,” he disclosed.
According to him, he learnt the trade in Onitsha General Hospital, Anambra state, and had come to know that some dead bodies were so “powerful” such that they do not allow others to lie close to them and he was always careful when attending to such bodies. Some corpses don’t allow others to lie near them His words:
“Some powerful people do not allow other dead bodies to lie close to them, so in the night, they will remove other bodies near them and dump them far from where they are or they would go to an isolated place and lie there – all dead bodies are not the same, which is why we knock before we enter there.”

How I got Naked On Set — Actress Juliet Chinenye Okonkwo Opens Up

Juliet Chinenye Okonkwo
Before your mind starts running wild with all sorts of imaginations, Juliet Chinenye okonkwo that would never go nude on set at any price. The idea of nudity or going stark naked crept in to her story as a result of what you may call occupational hazard. Every job has it, isn’t? Beautiful, with a cherubic kind of vulnerability, you wouldn’t have thought Juliet has a strong streak in her make-up. But Nollywood isn’t a place you pick roses as you walk through the path. It’s a damn cut-throat game that requires your dealing the cards with guts and blood. “Well, I haven’t really gone through so much stress in getting roles in movies. But that does not mean I haven’t been attending auditions and facing my own challenges. I attended auditions after auditions but I never gave up any hope.

Domestic Violence - Some Ladies Are The Cause.

The news of a young mother of two Aderonke who died as a result of domestic violence has speculated round the Web. It's a saddening story because of her 4years and 6years old kids who are now orphans. Information gathered, states that she was involved in a fight with her husband which led to her death. The man in question now is no where to be found as he disappeared into thin air with her phone switched off, locking the children with their dead mother in house. ‪#‎SoPainful‬. But truth must be told. Would this have happened this way if she hadn't gotten married to this animal? No! I guess. I still can't figure out the way some of our ladies do reason. To me it's so annoying. Before getting married to someone, you would have seen the type of person he is, the type of lifestyle he lives and I guess you're OK by it that's why you moved on to the next stage with him which is MARRIAGE. Take for instance, you met a guy in a club drinking heavily, smoking weed or on some sort of drugs. He asked you out, you accepted because he's got some designers on, spends heavily and beautiful ladies around him. Bravo! You made the right decision (you think). While dating, he flirts around, comes in at ungodly hours of the day. Which work is he doing, where does he work, what keeps him late? Oh he's a yahoo boy, he hangs out with friends that's why he comes in late. To you it's nothing. He's living life (Congrat to you and your thought. You married an irresponsible man and you want happiness in the marriage? Don't worry you would see it in Nollywood movie). He talks to you like nobody even in public. He hits you once, twice, thrice, he may or may not apologise. (Your acceptance, it's a mistake. Madame well done). Eventually, you both got married to each other, the same goes on, you didn't run for your life. You bore him kids, it continued, you didn't quit the marriage. (Oh my bad, I've forgotten the word of God which says "For better for worse". No wonder you're still in the marriage. But have you forgotten it's this same God that says "If a finger hurts you, CUT it off. I really do not like talking much about religion cos I know less about it.
