Tested by time and still standing, he is a leading voice in
Nigeria's music story who rose from being Rasaq Lawal in his High school
days to becoming the formidable RASQIE of the Nigerian music industry.
Joining Kennis music in 1999, Rasqie took the airways bringing the music
industry to the younger generation. With musical influences by BOB
MARLEY, FELA ANIKULAPO and FEMI KUTI, Rasqie has served his numerous
fans with three albums to his credit. His debut SOJI (Wake Up) was a
true wake up call as the young man who hails from Ondo State contributed
his first fruit to the emancipation of the Nigerian youth and the young
at heart.
His "ATI READY" album followed in 2004 as a hit banger taking Rasqie
to the next level. Then in 2008, Rasqie thrilled his fans and followers
with "Dapada" and “Mukoko” from his EVOLUTION album released on his
record label DA FLAVA ENTERTAINMENT. RASQIE has performed over (300)
three hundred shows/concerts within and outside Nigeria, such includes,
STAR TREK 2004, 2005 and 2006 respectively put together by Nigerian
Breweries Plc. MEGA JAM 2004 & 2005 respectively which feature
international rap star 50cent, Ja-Rule & Kelvin Little, just to
mention few. He recently had a two month tour in United States of
America from October to December 2013, performed in Newyork, Washinghton
DC and Maryland respectively.
He's toured all the four corners of the Nation and thrilled his
fans all the time with his superlative performance and also produced
works with so many artistes, both veterans and the young upcoming
ones.With his performance and his growing popularity all over the nook
and cranny of Nigeria, he has been able to build a massive fan base and
strong followership for himself.
