317 Classrooms Given To Kano By Japan

The Japanese government, working through the Japan International Cooperation Agency or JICA, handed over 317 classrooms to Nigeria’s Federal Government on Thursday. The classrooms were a result of a project started in June 2010 and is part of Japan’s Grant Aid to Nigeria.

The classrooms were constructed in 33 primary schools across 22 local government areas of Nigeria‘s Kano State. It is expected to be able to accommodate around 12,680 pupils and also included 308 toilet booths.
JICA chief representative Seki Tetsuo said that innovative Japanese engineering techniques were employed on the roofs, doors, and windows to ensure the durability of the buildings.
Japanese ambassador to Nigeria Ryuichi Shoji, who handed over the classrooms, said that the 2.31 billion Naira (US$14.8 million) was an important investment, as education is an invaluable asset for children and a crucial factor in the economic development of a country.
Receiving the classrooms was Minister of state for Education Chief Nyesom Wike who reiterated the Federal Government’s commitment to quality education, promising to put the classrooms into effective use.
He also noted how similar initiatives from JICA has helped other Nigerian states such as Niger, Plateau, and Kaduna in the past. Shoji announced Japan’s plans to build more classrooms for 5,000 students in the Federal Capital Territory this year, a project that will be undertaken in collaboration with local Non-Governmental Organizations.

Lucky Igbinedion Barned From Entering US By Obama Administration

Corrupt former Governor Lucky Igbinedion of Edo State may no longer enter the US, SaharaReporters has discovered from sources in Washington, DC. One of the sources revealed that the American consular authorities had written to Mr. Igbinedion to tell him that he was no longer welcome in the US.

Another source indicated that the former governor, who has been convicted for corrupt practices shortly after  his governorship term, had multiple entry visas to the US. "However, he has received a letter revoking his visa," said one source.

Mr. Igbinedion was a two-term governor in Edo State where he looted the treasury mindlessly, according to documents gathered by the EFCC.

Our source in Washington, DC disclosed that the US government was reviewing the files of some of Nigeria's current and former government officials and will deny them visas once they are deemed undesirable on account of their engagement in corruption.

Father Of Conjoined Twins Accused National Hospital Of Killing His Babies

   –

Mr. Ahmed Sani, 38, father of conjoined twins that died at the National Hospital, Abuja, last weekend, has accused the management of the hospital of not acting promptly to separate the set of twins.

Sani, who narrated his ordeal to Leadership Weekend during the period the babies were in the hospital, said they were dumped in the hospital for four days without even a scan carried out on them or telling him how much was needed for their separation.

According to him, the hospital never made any attempt to save the babies’ lives. He said: “When the babies were referred to the National Hospital at about 4pm on Thursday, January 3, 2013, the hospital demanded the sum of N20, 000 from us, which we gave to them. Later they demanded for toiletries for the babies, which we provided, while they asked me to go home, and that was on Friday. I went back to the hospital on Saturday.

“They said they were carrying out some tests and that I should go and come back on Monday because even if I decided to come on Sunday, I won’t find anyone to attend to me. So they demanded my contact which I gave them including that of my wife and even those of some of my relatives before I left.

“I went to the hospital on Monday and they apologised for not being able to reach me, claiming that all efforts to reach me proved abortive. That was when they told me that the babies died on Sunday.”

Sani said he demanded the bodies of the babies so that he could bury them according to his religion but the hospital begged him to return after three hours so that they could use the dead babies for experiment. “I came back after three hours and discovered that they had separated the dead bodies,” he stated.

A source disclosed to Leadership Weekend that the babies probably died of hunger because, while at the Mararaba Medical Centre, they were fed with baby food since their mother could not breastfeed them. “But at the National Hospital, they were not fed for the four days that they survived.”

The source further claimed that a consultant paediatrician at the National Hospital, whom the babies were handed over to, claimed that they were brought on a weekend and that was why they were not attended to. The babies were taken to the hospital at 4pm on Thursday, January 3, 2012.

When contacted, the public relations officer of the National Hospital, Prince Tope Haastrup, confirmed that the babies died on Sunday and were taken to the mortuary. “That is all I have to say, I can’t speak further on it.”

The president of the Nigerian Medical Association, Dr. Osahon Enabulele, said he was going to carry out an investigation as to what happened at the National Hospital before he could speak on the matter.

The medical superintendent of the Mararaba Medical Centre, Dr. Angela Smart, said Safiya Sani, the mother of the twins, was referred to the medical centre at about 10am on Thursday, January 3, from Mararaba Primary Health Centre.

Dr. Tolulope Utele, a consultant paediatrician, Garki Hospital, Abuja, said cases of conjoined twins happen every 50,000 live births. A majority of them face still birth or die shortly after birth.

The survival rate of conjoined twins is about 25 per cent. They are more likely to survive when they are together than when you separate them.

8year Old Girl Murdered By Gunman

A BRITISH schoolgirl shot dead in an execution-style killing in Jamaica was hit in the head with the masked assassin’s first bullet.
Imani Green, eight, was then hit in the shoulder by a second shot as she was deliberately targeted in the revenge attack.
The hoodie-wearing gunman went on to blast three adult members of her family with the 9mm pistol. Imani, of Balham, South London, was fatally injured. Her relatives — two women and a man — were wounded. One of the victims was a female family member who runs the grocery store in the quiet town of Duncans in Trelawney on Jamaica’s west coast.

They were the only people in the tiny shack-like shop. Police believe the attack was gang-related revenge against a friend of the shopkeeper.

A source said: “The killer shot the little girl in the head with his first bullet. The second bullet hit her in the shoulder. He then turned the gun on to the other three — two women and a man all related to Imani.”

Imani’s mum Donna was at a relative’s home nearby when her daughter was shot on Friday at around 8.30pm.

She was said to be inconsolable last night.

The little girl’s father Richard, at home in Balham, collapsed when he was told of the murder.

Imani’s gran Sandra Fisher, who called decorator Richard with the news, said: “He had to go to hospital. He’s in a bad way. Imani was his life.”

The tragic schoolgirl, who suffered from blood disease sickle cell anaemia, was visiting relatives with her mum and 19-year-old sister Jamila.

They flew out before Christmas and were due to return this month.

Jamila and gran Sandra raced to the scene after hearing shots and found Imani in a pool of blood.

Incredibly she was still breathing — but died on the way to hospital.

Jamila said: “I picked her up and flagged down a taxi. We took her to hospital to try to save her life but it was too late.”

Sandra, 54, added: “We found her in a pool of blood. It was horrible.”

Make-Up Transformation

How 9ice Career Got Screwed Up + Connection With Toni Payne

That pop star 9ice (Adigun Abolore Akande) musical career is dwindling at the moment is no news.
According to inside source, 9ice’s many controversies may have helped destroy his once upon a time blossoming career.

Recall the stories that made the rounds when 9ice and his erstwhile lover, Toni Payne got enmeshed in a very messy divorce scandal.
This was one divorce/crash marriage story that shook the Nigerian entertainment industry.
Many found it unbelievable that Toni Payne and 9ice could separate.
In 2010, the nation’s entertainment industry witnessed the separation of 9ice and Payne, as the former accused the latter of infidelity among other things.

This, however, was denied by the wife and later both went their different ways, leaving Zion, their only child in the custody of Payne.

After the separation, 9ice had other relationship with an Abuja based big girl,Bukola who delivered a set of twins for him about two years ago, while Payne is yet to remarry.

Another major factor that contributed to his reversal of fortune was his alleged friction with Coded Tunes Boss,ID Cabassa over his(9ice) frustration at having to remain on cue while the ace producer worked on other Coded Tunes squad mates after the success of his Gongo Aso and Tradition album.

The highly revered producer,ID Cabassa confirmed their tiff then.

According to Cabassa;” My relationship with 9ice has not been smooth. I don’t know where me or him got it wrong, but he just stopped talking to everybody in the Coded Tunes family. Four people called me from London that they learnt 9ice gave me # 4million naira and a house….that he left me for someone I trained because I was too busy and was not paying attention to him.

The impression by most people is that I made a lot of money from 9ice, but it’s not true. I didn’t gain anything(financially) from his second album. It was the third album when I was trying to stamp my feet down that our relationship went sour. I was so emotionally battered and betrayed after 9ice turned his back on me.

We might not be able to work together in the studio but I can’t rule out both of us becoming friends again.

It will take God for me to be able to work with 9ice again”.ID Cabassa fumes then.

Not forgetting 9ice’s leaked conversation with controversial rapper, Ruggedman over tales of alleged romance between the rapper and his estranged wife,Toni Payne. And the beef songs that follows afterward.

The main gist now is that, ever since 9ice abandoned his wife Toni Payne and businesspartner,ID Cabassa;the many controversies that trails him after the unceremonious breakup might have had adverse effect on the talented singer career.

The Alapomeji as he’s fondly called by fans is fast losing his face on the music scene for his inconsistent stage craft.

Is yet to perform at any major concert since the release of his double album,Bashorun Gaa, and Versus.

Of late, fans noticed that whenever is performing at functions, his voice is always coarse and inaudible.

Apart from that, the proverbial lyricist was snubbed by corporate brand, show promoters and organizers. Not even one song from the so called double album was adjudged strong enough to win him an award last year.

Confirming the fact that his many controversies and media may have contributed to his downfall,9ice revealed in an interview he granted a soft sell magazine months back that;

” When I released Tradition, my second album, there were a lot of critics and many negative things that happened to me. A lot of people in the showbiz industry felt because I was having issues in my marriage I was not good enough to have on their show and some thought I was not good enough for their brand.

There were a lot of sabotage and issue.”9ice squealed

He went further to say;” Because of the issue of my separation from Toni Payne and so many other negative reports like 9ice impregnating one lady in Abuja and so on, affected my endorsement deal with GLO.

It also affected the sales of Tradition but because the album is good. It survived.

I agreed with your views that I didn’t get much shows and it is because of the negative reports that followed the release of Tradition.

In the days of Gongo Aso there were no issues” 9ice divulged then.

To wrap things up, my candid advice to 9ice is retrace your foot step and seek for forgiveness from those people you have hurt and caused pain i.e Toni Payne,ID Cabassa, and Ruggedman.

Why I said 9ice should seek for forgiveness is because when he released the controversial song “Once Bitten Twice Shy” from his Tradition album, many people inundated that the song is referring to Toni Payne and Rugged man but 9ice knew that the song is just an imaginary story but he kept mum till the whole thing get messy.

Fake Twitter Followers Being Bought By Nigerian Celebrities

A mail was received yesterday from an IT person revealing a lot about what some of our Nigerian celebs are doing on Twitter. Quite a number of them are artificially inflating their Twitter followers to make themselves appear popular online. It's like a big competition now; who has the most followers, who has the biggest fans etc...hehe!

I have names and numbers...and how much some of them are paying to get these fake followers, but I will leave all that out, there's no point! :-). One celeb went from 73k followers to 150k followers in less than one week. Choi! Lol. They do it in a way that people who are following them do not even know they are following them, and when you find out you are following them, you can't even unfollow them. But the good thing about it is that the Twitter accounts they target are mostly those of foreigners. And it cost less N1.5k per follower..in case anyone is interested...:-)

US presidential candidate, Mitt Romney, was recently called out for his fake twitter followers and Youtube recently stripped 2 billion views from Justin Bieber, Rihanna, Beyonce, Rita Ora, Michael Jackson's videos on its site amid fears the figures were artificial inflated.

ARB: What is your name?

Ans: Tola Bamidele

ARB: Where are you from?

Ans: Well am from Lagos state, but my dad is from ekiti state so I rep ekiti state in some occasions.

ARB: How old are you?

Ans: Wow! U want all those young girls to know my age...well am 23 years of age,I will be 24 March 19 2013
1989 is my date of birth

ARB: How did you get your stage name?

Ans: Everybody knows OBA means King down here in our country, and people bow to a king,so for me I decided to give myself that title cos am a King and DC means Dele Carter. The Dele is part of my surname "Bamidele" and the Carter is a Nick name given by brothers so I decided to go for it,so that is where d name Carter cums in.

ARB: Do you know how to play any instrument?

Ans:  Menn, that instrument of a thing is not part of me at all but we can't say later in the future Oo I can work something out like playing the Guitar and Keyboard. I will really love to do that.

ARB: How was your childhood like?

Ans: Wow! I really love to go back in the days of my childhood cos it was really fun. I wasn't camped inside like other kids then,I was free, roll with good friends and I was really guided by my parent and I could remember then,I do write songs not my own song but superstars of then songs.
So I really had fun with dat, writing and singing their songs, its a wonderful feeling.

ARB: What is your family background like?

Ans: My father,Late Oludare Julius Bamidele hails from Ekiti state and he was a mechanical engineer and my mum hails from Ondo State and she teaches and she is aslo a good caterer always making yummy food.  Am from the family of four, menn kon see 4 big boys no girl Oo (he smiles). We are neither rich nor poor but we are okay by God's grace.

ARB: What type of music do you do?

Ans: I do the afro pop n dancehall, just want to make everybody out there dance and get inspired.
I can really get people inspired through dancehall

ARB: Taking it back to your childhood, what was your first experience with music for the first time like?

Ans: It was crazy ooo cos I remember back I started with Rap music and I was taught how to put rhymes together by a friend then later I went to studio to drop some bars but I was told I wasn't good at it that I really need to work on myself so I was sad. Not long after I switched into my recent style "Afro pop",I don't jus know what happened then, the style jus came in,& I could clearly remember I went into the studio to record my first single titled "Into D Longo". Although the production was wack but people feel my style and since then I believe that I can make it.

ARB: What song do you remember most as a child?

Ans: Is it my song or some other artist song?

A.R: Other artists

Ans: Ohh,that was "You & I" by 'Plantation boiz' and "Catch Cold" by 'Maintain'.I really love those songs.

ARB: As a child back then what music do you listen to most back then?

Ans: Catch Cold by Maintain. That was my anthem.

ARB: Which type of music do you listen to now

Ans: I listen to RnB,afro pop music with a lil mix of Rap music.

ARB:  What is the difference between the ones you listen to now and the ones you listened to back then?

Ans: Ahhh, even a deaf man will know. (He smiled). Just kidding. There is big difference in terms of audio production and video production. Back then productions were wack but as a child i don't really know then, all i do is just dance . Music production of this days has more quality than then,we have more talented producers in d industry and they are making hit tracks.

ARB: What was the first song that you've ever sang,& how does it make you feel?

Ans: My first song ever was titled "Larimo" & it means "Falling a victim" in English. I wrote this song myself without any help or idea from anybody & I called a good friend of mine that produces and he said I should come over and I went,I sang the song to him and he made a beat and I jumped into the booth and spit on the mic. So I went bak to him two days leta after he has done the mixing of the song and I listened to myself and I was like "Na me be dis? (He busted into laughter)...ohh shiitt and he congratulated me like "Welcome to the game am beta off than some people, nice song for now.

ARB: What made you realize you wanted to pursue a career in music?

Ans: I love listening to music right from my childhood and I rolled with friends that are into music then. So all the writing of artists songs back then entered my head and became my part and parcel before I started writing my own songs and I watched them perform too.

ARB: Hum you've not said in particular what led to your music career I.e you've not answered the question

Ans: The passion I have for it cos back then i zeroed my mind that after skool am not doing any other thing than music.(He rolled his eyes)

ARB: You still haven't answered the question. What am saying is that what lured you into music, maybe because of the money in it,because of the fame or whatsoever

Ans: You are now talking.
Well, money is one thing and the fame too is another thing. Have always want to help my family to grow financially through this music of a thing so am singing to make money to help my family, help the less privileges and inspire people too but during the process of doing this, the fames comes in too(He smiled)

ARB: How did you get yourself involved in this type of music you sing now?

Ans: I have role models which I look up to and do the kind of music I do too in the industry. I started with listening to their music b4 putting out my own style of music.

ARB: What are people expected to see at your live performance?

Ans: The crazy swag I put on on stage cos anytime am on stage is like am in my house rehearsing so I put all my energy in it and I carry my audience along be it the kids or adults.

ARB: If you have to describe your music in three or four words, what would you call it?

Ans: Hit banger

ARB: What do you like most about your profession?

Ans: The love I get from my fans and friends and families.
       And the performance

ARB: How long have you been doing this?

Ans: 7 good years by God's grace

A.R: So why didn't you give up,or are you happy doing this?

Ans: Give up is not in my dictionary...I know is gon take this long so am prepared for it cos this my passion, this is what am born to do so to give up doesn't occur to me in anyways.

ARB: So you don't mind doing it for twenty years?

Ans: As far the love for it is still there and am making my doe and inspiring people. I don't mind.

ARB: Are you happy doing this?

Ans: Funny question! This what am paying my dues for so why won't I be happy doing it. Am comfortable doing this and with God by side...I dey carry go.

ARB: Should your parents have been more or less strict?

Ans: Less strict

ARB: Have you ever entered any contests to enhance your music career?

Ans: Nahhh,not at all.

ARB: Would you enter a contest in the future?

Ans: Don't know yet, anything can happen.

ARB: What are your songs about? (What specific theme do they cover)

Ans: For now my song is all about club and the street

ARB: How long have you been performing live?

Ans: For three years now,yea.

ARB: If you could go back in time, what would you do differently?

Ans: Nice question...I'll probably be a Dj.

ARB: If you hadn't been born in your century, when and where would you like to have lived?

Ans: I think I would have loved to  live in the State.

ARB: What do you think your biggest break or greatest opportunity has been so far in your music career?

Ans: Is getting signed under a young and growing record label that caters for my needs.

ARB: If you had to categorize your music, what genre would it best fit(name up to three)

Ans: Afro pop,dancehall and hi-life

ARB: What do you think distinguishes an artist from just a musician?

ARB: Why the silence?

Ans: (He Breaks The Silence) A musician to me I tink is someone that knows how to play the instrument, knows when is off key and can cover it up without being noticed and can carry is audience along when performing live. And Artist is someone that just write his song some don't even write,go to the studio and spit on the mic and leaves, but has a lil swag on stage.

ARB: We do here "Na Wa oo',Na wa Oo" in all your songs,is that a slang or what

Ans: (He laughed) hahaha. Na wa ooo on street means something that's surprises people and they exclaim. But Na Wa Oo is a record label name. That is Na Wa Oo Entertainment.

ARB: Where & how did you meet them,& How long have you been there?

Ans: The CEO of Na Wa Oo is a friend of mine on the same street I lived in but I never knew he own a label. I actually  met him officially when I was in search of a studio to record a new joint so he took me to one of his producers and when he heard the song,he decided to feature on it cos it was a good song and from there he told me about his label then I thought about this & I told him we can do this. Have been under Na Wa Oo since 3years ago.

ARB: What are your immediate music career goals?(Next 1 to 3 years.)

Ans: To achieve something great like collecting all those nice awards, collaborating with top local and international artists & to help someone out there.(Oluwa is involved).

ARB: How much creative control do you have over your own music?

Ans: When it comes to creative am always careful cos I don't want to sing something gibberish and tell people out there, am creative, nahhhh. So creative control over my music is 75%.

ARB: What has been the biggest challenge for you or your management?

Ans: The biggest challenge for me is people telling me I keep wasting my time,I should find something better to do but I neva give them a listening ears cos I know where am headed.

ARB: Who are your heroes?

Ans: My heroes, well God is my hero.

ARB: Who do you have respect for?

Ans: Firstly I respect the talented multi award winner 2face Idibiah followed by Dbanj,Banky w and 9ice. This dudes are really good and they have taken the Nigerian music industry to the next level.

ARB: Are you political active?

Ans: Nahh, not even for a second

ARB: Do you do any volunteer work?

Ans: That was about a year ago but have stopped now.

ARB: How has Nigeria changed in the last ten years?

Ans: They've been some improvement if at all the development is not yet circulated.  Right now our roads are being tied and light is being stable in some areas & when we come down to the Mega city "Lagos" a lot of things has changed compare to Lagos of then.

ARB: How have you changed?

Ans: Have Change in so many ways ooo,bak then I was stubborn (He laughed) but right now am cool headed easy lion and my life has bin simple all the way, have improved in my lyrics writing,I think that's it.

ARB: What's the side of you that the public never sees?

Ans: When my eye turn Red,that means am boiling

ARB: Hmmm you haven't answered the question

Ans: Getting angry,and havin s*x

ARB: Do you wish you had more PRIVACY?

Ans: I really wish oooo.

ARB: Do you think the PUBLIC and CRITICS expect too much from you?

Ans: Yea,they shuld.

ARB: You've heard of the term starving artists, how do you cope with some major obstacles?

Ans: Wasn't easy thou but I do pray to overcome them

ARB: How hard do you push yourself?

Ans: Not really hard for now cos due to promise and fail from people sometimes got me weak so the little I can do,I think is getting me somewhere and with my label assistant,we are good to go.

ARB: When are you completely satisfied with your work?

Ans: When I have my videos out,my album out and when am being called for gigs.

ARB: If you had the major opportunity to change something about the music industry, what would it be?

Ans: Menn, that will be playing upcoming artists jobs for free on radio

ARB: Do you have any fan comments of how your music has affected or changed them?

Ans: Yea,they comment. Like some people will tweet me that anytime they are down all they have to do is listen to my song over and over again to get them together and dance away their sorrows, cos in all my song am always putting in something that can inspire people.

ARB: Art & Music has an impact on both young & old, everyone loves a celebrity,so what advise do you have for today's youth?

Ans: All I have to say is,don't let people tell u that u can't do it,belive in yourself, have a dream of where you want to be in life, neva give up and put God first.

ARB: What does your family think of your performance, and did they support you?

Ans: Am being supported if at all not financially,my mum support me with prayers also.

ARB: Do you have your favorite type of music,& is it of any difference from what you play now

Ans: Yea,I have and is totally different from what I play now

ARB: How do you relax?

Ans: Watching movie and listening to music

ARB: What has been your strong influence to continue performing?

Ans: My role model.

ARB: Does anyone in particular influence your artistic / music talent?

Ans: Yes.

ARB: What song do you love to perform the most?

Ans: For low "Go Low" but I know there is another big one coming.

ARB: While getting ready to perform, have you ever been interrupted by fans who snuck into the dressing room/ rehearsal, and how did you handle this?

Ans: Yea,have experienced this before, all I do was to call the person back cos the person was about to run out of the rehearsal room so I jus have to sit d person to watch us do our thing. Am always cool with my fans

ARB: Tell us about your most embarrassing moment

Ans: Hahaha,(He laughed) it wasn't funny. That was the day I went for a fashion show and I was about performing so the DJ dint cue my song in immediately and I started freestyling and a man stood up and said e don do nahhh, sing wetin u won sing make u leave stage mean while the DJ was still trying to get my song so I just left the stage for other artists and I left the place.
That day wasn't funny' everybody was jus laffing.

ARB: What are your up-to-date performance plans, New Release,Tours,News.

ARB: How do you think you would like to remembered by everyone if something were to happen to you suddenly?

Ans: Hmmm,by the lives have changed and the help have  done to people around me.

ARB: If you had only five minutes on eath to perform one song that could leave a great impact on your world today, what song would you perform and why did you choose this particular one?

Ans: It will be "All Over The World" cos this song truly will inspire people cos I talked about my life and I gave out a lil advice in the song.

Ans: Success to me is achieving something u have always dream of achieving through hard work.

ARB: If you think you had to think on a slogan that could leave a positive impact for everyone, what would your slogan be?

Ans: No demo demo no dey (he laughed)

ARB: Do you currently have an agent, endorsement, record label, sponsor etc

Ans: Don't have an endorsement deal yet, still looking for one but I have a record label

ARB: What's the name of your label

Ans: Na Wa Oo Entertainment

Sunny Okosun's son released from jail over his alleged involvement in Nkiru Sylvanus' kidnap

One of the sons of late music icon Sunny Okosun has been released from jail after being arrested over his alleged involvement in the kidnap of Nkiru Sylvanus and Kenneth Okolie.

Jerry Okosun, who also works for the Imo State government as Director General of Student Affairs, was released January 5th after spending 11 days in police cell in Owerri with other suspected kidnappers.

Jerry was arrested on Christmas Day because for some weird reason, the kidnappers contacted him to negotiate the release of Nkiru Sylvanus. Jerry acted as a middle man for Nkiru's family, the Imo State government and the kidnappers. He was the one that negotiated the N8 million ransom that was eventually paid to secure Nkiru Sylvanus and Kenneth Okolie's release.

After their release, the Imo State Government Chief of Staff ordered Jerry's arrest because they claimed to have found some incriminating text messages on his phone connecting him to the crime...and also because Jerry had been insisting on the government paying N15million as ransom. Jerry says he's innocent.

5 Goats Arrested In Osun State

Residents of Dele-Yesa area, Osogbo, Osun state were taken by surprise on Tuesday, when officials of the state Waste Management Agency, OWMA, arrested five Goats.

The state Coordinator of OWMA, Mr. Henry Ogunbanwo stated that the goats were arrested for violating environmental laws.
The animals were caught roaming around the residential area of the state capital instead of being caged by their owners.
After being arrested, the goats were detained at the OWMA office in Osogbo.
They would be charged to court for prosecution, says the OWMA co-ordinator.
Prior to the incident, a notice of warning had been issued to all Osun state residents on the need to monitor their domestic animals so as to avoid public disturbance.
Mr Ogunbanwo further said “the present administration in the state has zero tolerance for dirtiness and environmental hazard, the environmental laws must be strictly adhered to”

He added that “OWMA officials would from now move to every nook and cranny of the state to arrest animals violating environmental laws. The owners of such animals would also be dealt with in accordance with the provisions of the laws.”

HIV/AIDS Cure, Claimed To Have Been Found By Nigerian Professor

Prof. Isaiah Ibeh, is the Dean of "School of Basic Medical Sciences, University of Benin". Prof Ibeh   announced on January 8th the development of a new drug that can  cure HIV and AIDS.
He told the News Agency of Nigeria in Benin, that research on the project was started in 2010 and culminated in the development of “Deconcotion X (DX)–Liquid or Bioclean 11 for the cure of HIV and AIDS. He said the herbal drug had undergone “a series of successful tests.”
NAN was told by Prof Ibeh, that “We are at the threshold of making history, in the sense that we seem to have with us something that will permanently take care of what over time seems to have defied all solutions. We are talking about the latest discovery of an oral drug made from plants extraction in Nigeria for the possible cure for the pandemic, HIV and AIDS virus.’’
“The existing retro-viral drugs are intervention drugs for the management of AIDS but our new discovery is a possible cure. We have tried to look at the product first; its toxicological analysis and discovered that it has a large safety margin. This means that if animals or human beings are exposed to it, they will not suffer any serious harm at all from the exposure.

“It also helped us to know the quantity we can conveniently give to animals and will feel secure that nothing untoward will happen. We have also done the bacteriological analysis on it, after which we looked at its effect on the virus and the result was quite revealing and refreshing.’’
"The result showed an increase in the body weight of the individual administered with DX. The body weight was statistically significant when compared with the control group. This verification is necessary because it is what is used to measure whether infection is still there or not. So we need to know the siro-convention time. But preliminary results showed that of the five latest patients orally administered with the drugs, our findings is that up to seven months three of them were siro negative while two were still faintly positive.’
